About the Event

Title: Equine Ophthalmology: An Update on Disease, Diagnostics and Therapy

An update will be provided on where we are with the management of ERU, and another recently described form of equine uveitis - HIK. Advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic options will be discussed for common equine ophthalmic diseases such as squamous cell carcinoma and immune-mediated keratitis, including advanced ophthalmic imaging, photodynamic therapy and surgical interventions in the standing horse. 


Bio:

Dr. Lauren Charnock is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences and a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist at the UC Davis veterinary teaching hospital. She completed her DVM at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, a rotating internship at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island, and a residency in comparative ophthalmology with a Master of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at Auburn University.
