Oocyte aspiration and the in vitro production of embryos: dollars and sense?

This evening lecture will touch on the nuts and bolts of building oocyte aspiration into practice, costs compared to embryo transfer, and rates of success of in-vitro embryo production and pregnancy.  

Dr Lisa Metcalf is the owner of Honahlee, PC, a clinical equine reproductive practice that she built and ran for 30 years until 2018, and since 2011, an equine IVF practice located in a human OB GYN Fertility department of Oregon Health Science and University in Portland Oregon. She received her DVM degree from The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and her MS in Endocrinology from UC Davis. Dr Metcalf is board-certified in theriogenology. Devoted during her entire career to the AAEP, she has had the pleasure of serving on its reproduction, abstract review, educational programs, scope of practice, research, disaster, foundation advisory, finance committees, as well its board of directors and executive council.

Both a researcher and a clinician, spanning both academic and clinical appointments, she has authored and published more than 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and more than 10 text book chapters on many areas of interest in equine reproduction.
